For my SosBud I email my agent in Sanur who sends me a sponsor's details and paperwork for Rp600,000 which I pay her within a a week or so of my arrival. The up-to-4 monthly extensions are Rp700,000 each with a visit to Immigrasi required once for fingerprints and mugshot. If you arrived on a 60 day Tourist Visa she can extend it but you have to have the same sponsor arrangement as above so the cost is the same. So, cost for 6 months isapprox 600K for Visa Application in your country, 600K for sponsor, 4 times 700K for extensions totalling Rp4,000,000 or about US$300. You may choose to do some of it yourself but usually requires 3 visits to Immigrasi for each extension. Talk to Tia at: Karsini Services :: Visa Services > Social Visa and check paperwork as simple mistakes are sometimes made!

My sosbud arrangements are similar to Kiteman #22, except the agent does not charge for sponsor letter etc. She trusts that I use her for the extensions after arriving in Bali. She picks up and delivers. often to a bar. She does not have a visa business or office. She was recommended to me and so far no problems.

Please note the source of this "new information" - a bloody visa agency. Suggest before twisting knickers up completely wait and see if it happens just like all the other stupid "new" regulations and laws that have floated by in the last year.

Re pst #24Agree with Markit...don't fall for this nonsense by an agent willing to get your attention. It is, as Markit often says... "FECKING' incorrect.I'm currently in process with my agent, who also happens to be the Association President, and passed this info to him....we need to wait and see.I'll report back..... meanwhile...don't listen or act on rumour.
Markit
Davita I'm getting concerned that you seem to be agreeing with me on a regular basis. One of us is doing something wrong.

@ #28. My sponsor was a young woman. Sinta Okta. Her email is baiqsinta123@gmail.com. I have not had contact with her since about April 2015. Good luck.

Hi to you all.Have any of you heard of 'Bali expat services' ? I have sent many enquirers from recommended agents that have been mentioned to me ,and have heard nothing back from any of them . However with BES I got a very prompt and professional email and regular contact back and forth answering all my questions, and even came up with a great solution for a sight obstacle I had . As most of you here on the site are veterans and very knowledgeable , I thought it wouldn't hurt . Cheers
