Do you think it can be profitable leasing a hotel in Bali? What are the pros and cons?

I think it depends on the history. If it is a running hotel then I would want to search online for previous reviews like on agoda or tripadvisor. If ratings are bad then you will have a hard time turning that around. On the other side, if it is a good running hotel with good reviews and confirmed bookings you will make profit from day one I guess.I nearly leased a small homestay but they wanted so much that I would have earned more by putting my money in a deposit account rather than running that homestay.

Of course you must evaluate the parameters: 1.location . 2.tourist history and potential 3. all costs including potential partners? 4.costs of wages, maintenance, taxes and utilities. 5.growth potential. 6. length of lease and renewal provision. 7.signage and other advertising costs. 8.self sacrifice and liklihood of responsible management and its costs and honesty. 8. security-costs and reliability. 9. cyclical history of tourism in area and stability of government. 10. How much cash do you have? You sure as hell can't borrow. 11. Evaluate by talking to locals and getting acquaintd and learning all you can by taking the time necessary to make an intelligent non-emotional, pragmatic decision. My dinner is ready!

SpookyAyam you being the rich and powerful owner of a hotel I'm gonna assume (makes an ASS out of U and ME) that you wanna flog yours? So I'm gonna look at it from the other side: If I was gonna lease a hotel I wouldn't. If the present owner couldn't make a go of it then why should I be able/willing. If I was gonna lease a hotel I'd only do it if I had a plan that didn't include giving a **** about the hotel and it's good name/rep. If I was gonna lease a hotel why would I take on someone elses bad news?If I was gonna lease a hotel that the owner said was a goer would I believe that? Feck no, or why is the owner trying to get out from under a good going concern?!?I could go on but my fingers are bleeding already...
