Not sure I have come to Bali to live surrounded by the traffic and pollution of the likes of Kerobokan. A quite unrealistic 12 month: 350.000.000 - I pay one third of that price to live ten minutes away - but as usual the market will determine whether that is fair. Oversupply of long term rental homes suggests to me it won't be let anywhere near that amount. As a newcomer to Bali with a decent job, I find the price expectation staggering for what are often basic housing, devoid of love and quality. The agent for our villa took Rp5miilion from the owner - who we already knew - last year for doing nothing, he smiled as he admitted it. This year he raised the rent five million as he says that's what they do; so 5% property inflation, yet my salary remained fixed. Gravy train and too many are on it. Know another agent who finds property online and adds it to her popular media site at up to 20% higher rent. It's laughable.
