That article says "Kratom is banned for consumption in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, though Indonesia allows its export in an unprocessed form. " it doesn't say you can't posses it.

Honestly I knew I might be bordering on breaking the rules to post this thread, but I ask the reader to consider this: if Kratom does work for pain, as non (or less) addictive solution than our traditional opiates morphine, oxycontin etc do you think the pharmaceutical industry would feel threatened, as in lost sales due to kratom consumption My decision was to post the thread, as this herb has been used for 100's of years and it might just be beneficial to someone out there, now that you can find, decide wisely how to use it and like all medicines treat with respect.

Just because some drug comes from a plant doesn't necessarily mean it's safe. E.g., Mushrooms are "natural" but you'd be unwise to gobble a bunch of those with white (or purple) frills on the bottom. My understanding of Kratom is that [B][U]is[/U][/B] addictive Then again, so are alcohol and tobacco which are derived from "plants". (Fermented grains with some yeast and tobacco leaves, respectively.) Coffee comes from coffee beans; chocolate and cocaine from cacao beans. You ever snorted nutmeg?
