An Australian man has faced court in Bali accused of kidnapping his own son. Alistair Larmour has been charged with abduction and assault after he and a friend allegedly attacked baby Andrew's mother and abducted the 15-month-old in April. He should be deported ,I don't think a Bali court has jurisdiction over a crime that was committed in Australia,,and it would be considered more an offence ,which would be handled by the family court in australia

Surely it depends on where the crime was committed. I didn't read that it was committed in Australia..... so assumed it was here in Bali. If committed in Australia I agree he should simply be deported to the Australian authorities.

If I recall the original news stories about this case, the crime was committed in Bali, where the perp and his Polish ex lived. However, what I found incredible about the news story quoted in post #1 is the line "the life coach and healer has his own website and claims to have logged more than 10,000 hours of meditation." You've got to be shitting me - life coach and healer who commits assault and kidnapping?!? Unbelievable and shows the type of chancers, scoundrels and bullshit artists that currently drift and grift in Bali. Time for a major review and tightening of the Sosbud visa system to stop such people from 'living' and working in Indonesia on what are intended to be short term social / cultural visas.
