It strikes me this forum, Indonesia and life in general is getting way too serious what with executions and such like so I thought I'd just post what lunch looked like yesterday and maybe a breakfast shot or two also just to prove it aint all sucking up Bintang/Arak/Tuak. Feel free to add yours too. This is "my" Kadek doing the cooking and her hubby Alit on Mahi mahi grilling. The grill is a home construction cause all the others rust through in nothing flat. The breadmaker is a Kenwood bought from Pantry Magic in Kuta - IDR 2milli. The bread is a bit on the heavy side and the recipe takes some tinkering to get it right (work in progress) and the many different types of loaves that the device could make is severely limited by ingredient non-availability so we pretty much stick to the plain, white loaf or the coffee brioche( which takes about a half a butter ($). Jam I make myself from the wonderful fresh fruits available year round if you look for them but tend to go with pineapple or mango (also a ripping chutney) with papaya.

Try putting some cornflour (maizena) in the mix to lighten it up.I'll PM you with some different Breadmaker recipes if you want them.[/QUOTE]Yes please - just wack them up here. I know for a fact 2 of the hardcore do their own backing and them that don't might be swayed. Please give proportions.

Ta very much. About the dead cow: before I lived in Asia I would have eaten one of those on my own but since I've been here I wouldn't walk over the street to get one - my tastes have changed completely. Has to do with the climate I think.
