Bali's Airport's Disability Immigration Counter.

I arrived back yesterday at around 3 pm and the line-ups were long. We headed for the Indonesian/Kitas/Kitap which was quite long but an officer directed us to the disability counter which also serves those over 60 and families with children under 5. There were only about 10-15 people so we were through and out very quickly. They do check the passport for verification however. I checked the new duty free on arrival and 1 litre Smirnoff Vodka was Rp290 and Absolute was Rp370.

Welcome back. These prices are ok though higher than at Changi Airport (Smirnoff 1L Rp195 and Absolut 1L Rp287), but still better than the duty paid prices in Bali.

WOW!!!! I'm coming over. Even bottle water where I live is 15 - 20 times that much. I assume there are no limits on how many bottles you can buy at that price, as long as you don't take them through customs, where you'd pay the import duties? Are there good cheap restaurants also in the duty free area, as, in that case, I'll plan to spend a couple of weeks just in this area, enjoying the Absolute and others...

You should write to Dufry (Duty-Free owners) and offer that great advice. They could provide chairs and sandwiches before going thru' customs. Could be a very lucrative business. I can imagine the customs officer asking "How much alcohol are you declaring'...just as the drunk vomits and says "Half a litre.... and get this place cleaned-up...it's slippery".....:oops:

Hmmmm? Knowing that we both travel similar routes, and that I am still just south of where you left kind of know that you had an opportunity to purchase your booze elsewhere along the trip. With that in mind have to ask if you found the price of booze less in Bali than elsewhere (like Taipei)? Just want to prepare for the best deal...........you aren't the only one with a bit of Scottish heritage!

I left from HKG but on space available tickets (business class). They issued me the boarding-pass 30 mins before departure and we had to go thru' Security (very strict in HKG); Immigration...down escalators, get on a train to the satellite then up escalators to find the gate is at the end of the concourse with three moving walkways. I had no chance to stop for any duty free. On arrival at the gate I find we are downgraded to economy.....not a happy camper.
