spicyayam It seems like it is just doing its thing. A lot of minor eruptions but nothing major so far. It could go on like this for months yet. Some people feel like the small eruptions relieve the pressure while others say it is building up to something bigger. The airlines seem to have a good handle on the situation and work around the volcano. I think the airport has only been closed for one day this year.
davita I arrived back to Bali yesterday and saw Agung clearly from the air and it looked dormant....not a sign of any smoke or ash.

davita Clearly Mt Agung is fearful of Davita...as tintin advocates in post # 5. Those who rely on 'mystic' and 'magic', and wanting protection from the volcano, should therefore ensure Davita is never without a beer or a glass of wine.....QED.
JohnnyCool Just because a dangerous volcano looks "dormant" doesn't mean it is. Mt Agung has been "dormant" since the mid 1960's, when it woke up created lots of havoc and damage in Bali, (then went back to bed months later for a "nap"). 45 or so years in a volcano's life is nothing. Similar to earthquakes, sort of. Indonesia sits on the "Ring of Fire". A big earthquake here is "overdue". This archipelago is kind of like a string of rattling pearls perched on one of the world's most active seismic zones. (Indonesia has more active volcanoes than any where else.) Experts still can't predict, with any accuracy, when the next big shake or blow will come (or where). Add to that "mystical", "magical" interpretations of things and what have we got to rely upon? Your guess is as good as mine. Never underestimate a napping volcano.
