It seems that there has been more activity with Mount Agung the past few weeks. On one hand you would think this is leading up to a big eruption and on the other hand people who are studying the volcano say each of these eruptions is good as it is relieving pressure.
I know it is only speculation, but does anyone want to share their thoughts on what might happen in the proceeding months.

I have to say im glad I dont live anywhere near the volcano , sorry for the people who live in strike radius , dont know how they sleep .
I notice the camps are starting to fill ,4k plus .
I watch the tectonics and follow info mitigasi , who knows what will happen ,clearly Agung is constantly venting pressure, which one would think is good , but it seems volcanologists are constantly being caught out ie Hawaii .

As someone that lives within 22km of the bad boy I have to say I just love it. Apart from the obvious "fear of dying horribly" in an earthquake, Lahar, Pyroclastic surge, pumice bombing, etc. etc. I really wake up every day wondering what she (he?) will do today. I love finding new vantage points to watch/photograph her and I never, ever get tired of the fantastic emerald green paddy surrounding this spectacular smoking exhibit of mother nature at her least predictable.

No one can predict exactly when a volcano is going to blow, (or not).
Volcano experts are great at telling us what happened after an event and why.
Kind of like meteorolgists who can’t tell you exactly what the weather will be at your place.
It’s extremely difficult to try and do either, and requires super computers to process whatever data has to be crunched.
Mt Agung, historically, is one of Indonesia’s most violent volcanoes, as far as we
No where in the class of Mt Tambora, the beast in Lake Toba or even Krakatau, yet.
The most dangerous volcano in Indonesia these days is Mt Merapi (Jogjakarta)
Agung is doing this, doing that, but if it gets too much for her, she may well blow big time.
Maybe up and down, or left to right, (perhaps both).
IMHO, it’s a work in progress, meaning it ain’t over yet. Guess we’ll know for sure when she makes up her mind and read about it later.
Agung woke up spectacularly back in 1963. Many Balinese thought it was in protest against pushing forward the date of their 100 year ceremony, fuelled by the Indonesian government at the time to promote tourism.
I’m wondering now if the mountain’s gearing up to “protest” against the IMF/World Bank convention in Bali in October.
Note: I don’t really believe believe that mountains think, but who knows, especially in Bali?
