Hello, I'm interested to hear any FIRST hand experiences with sending kids to Green School. My Grandchildren attend a private College in Perth and are ages 9 and 6. My Daughter is considering sending them to Green School for a year and my concerns are regarding the curriculum, quality of teachers, safety etc. There are quite a few posts on other sites but none that are less than a year old ....

The Green School? Hey, like P.T. Barnum used to say "Don't worry about that, there's a sucker born every minute"!

I can give you my info from another perspective, I'm not the parent of a student in GS but I've been playing weekly basketball in their place regularly, the teachers and parents usually join the game, sometimes the director too.To summarized the school, its an incubator for alternative lifestyle from a very different perspective, so you can't really expect them to follow the normal standard curriculum.Quality of the teachers? Most of them didn't appear to me as a teacher, but what do I know? I went to Catholic Schools for all my basic education so it is not like comparing apple to apple If you have a kid enrolled there and then transfer to another school afterwards, you better be prepared for more adjustment period before they can blend into the new school. The kids will be happier there, but whether they have all the standard knowledge that any kids would have from the schools in your home will be a very different storyI'd suggest you just do a trial first and then decide yourself, some loves it but some would hate it :icon_wink:
