Local (Indonesian) health insurance

I need health insurance for my retirement visa. Has anyone managed to get local health insurance and if so how much are you paying a year? Who is it with? Thanks

I suggest you ask your agent to advise how to get around that requirement. Seeing a doctor in Indonesia is relatively cheap so getting local health insurance, imo, is a waste. Better to get adequate International Insurance to cover major medical/accident/recovery to home etc.

The local government insurance BPJS is not available to foreign retirees. Most private local insurance options I have seen are all life insurance type plans, like Prudential and don't offer medical evacuations. As Davita says, your agent can provide some kind of letter which satisfies immigration requirements.

Not sure if you're just looking to tick a box, in which case you could probably get by with a travel insurance policy, or if you actually want a proper policy that covers you in Indonesia for accident and illness.
