Markit
Every so often Bali Discovery Tours (hearafer BDT) comes up with this info-letter purporting to bring news of Bali, but being a marketing organ (as in kidney, liver, testes) actually has a slightly schizophrenic function of trying to "inform" us and sell "us" to the the marketing world at the same time. I, personally, am often amazed at the stuff that comes up there and up till now I've always thought "what the feck do I know?" . Thing is, in the mean time, I've been here a fair while and I've really been paying attention but I have to say again and agian I have no fecking clue who or what they/he (Jack Daniels) are talking about, for instance: [h=1]Bali's Loses Much-Loved Tourism Pioneer[/h] [h=2]Ida Pedanda Gde Ngurah Karang - Founder of Segara Village Hotel Dies at 87 (I'm trashed, you? what does a "tourism pioneer do, go across the swimming pool in a covered wagon?)[/h] (12/22/2014) Bali has lost one of its most illustrious tourism figures (how many of these feckers are there?) with the death of Ida Bagus Kompiang on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the age of 87. Doesn't look a day over 86)

http://www.balidiscovery.com/images/955/thumb/idabaguskompiang-1951.jpg[/IMG]

Click Image to Enlarge Later in life, Kompiang was bestowed with the religious title of Ida Pedanda Gde Ngurah Karang acknowledging his transitinh (proof-reader needed, can I apply?) role as a spiritual leader of the community. Which fecking community?Kompiang's biographer (who the feck is Kompiang? I thought the dead fecker was called [h=2]Ida Pedanda Gde Ngurah Karang ?!?)[/h], Professor I Nyoman Darma Putra, told Radar Bali that the tourism industry owes a debt of gratitude to "Bapak Kompiang" for his efforts to promote Bali tourism dating from the 1950s. Help me out here, but didn't the dead guy have a hotel? So "promoting tourism" is called "making a living" where I come from. In addition, he noted that Kompiang and his wife were the first local entrepreneurs to erect a hotel on Sanur Beach in 1956. (What I said before - making living)That hotel - the Segara Village - was constructed by Ida Bagus Kompiang (the dead guy?) a full ten years before Bali's historic Bali Beach Hotel opened its doors.("Historic" is when Mao admits to being a kiddy-fiddler or the Atlantic Ocean turns into a goldfish bowl) The original hotel has been expanded and improved over the years and has now become a tourist accommodation landmark in Sanur. (who's dick is getting sucked here?)In the 1960s at the request of the Republic ,Kompiang organized innovative Indonesian Floating Fairs using a cruise ship to promote Indonesian tourism in Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore. The ship carried tourism professionals and an arts team from Sanur to showcase Bali tourism at each port of call. Worked a treat - Bali really bloomed in the 60s - no, actully no fecker came here until the 90s so the thing with the ship was a waste of time. He also served for a period as the Honorary Consul of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark in Bali. Wow, since about 4 guys came from all those countries before 2000 it must have been a real "gruller" Kompiang was also fundamental in establishing the Bali chapter of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI-Bali). The world famous... He was also a past ("future" looks bad) chairman of the Indonesian Legion of Armed Forces Veterans (LVRI) in connection with his service in the national struggle for Independence.Cremation and religious ceremonies to mark the passage of Ida Pedanda Gde Ngurah Karang are still in preparation.I thought the dead fecker was called [h=2]Kompiang ?!?)[/h]Shown on Balidiscovery.com Ida Bagus Kompiang and his wife, Anak Agung Mirah Asthuti Kompiang, circa 1951.She's not bad for 87.... Is it me?
