It seems like a common scam and I read a few blogs about how it goes down. The MO always seems to be the same, where are you from? oh, i have a sister/niece who wants to study as a nurse in ____. It's still amazing how this guy could lose so much in the scam, maybe a record. I also wonder why his family didn't step in, or even the banks question him when he was sending the money. A Perth man has issued a chilling warning to travellers heading to Bali after he was fleeced out of his life-savings in a gambling scam on the holiday island. Joe, who asked for his surname to remain unpublished, lost $200,000 after getting trapped in a card game. The 66-year-old, from Baldivis, said he lost the entirety of his superannuation, shattering his retirement plans. Not a poor guy...a greedy guy. This scam is just a version of three card monte/shell game. Saw it the other day on the train in Los Angeles...for much lower stakes of course.

If he was just trying to help out these poor people he wouldn’t be running around trying to take their money. The outcome is outrageous and those responsible should be caught and punished but I have little sympathy for this man, nothing other than greed in his actions.

Wow - I didn't see that happening. This old man’s story is hard to swallow. I mean, are there [B]really[/B] people this stupid? Guess so. But surely, there must be more to the story. Nobody can be that daft and now crying “poor”, and warning travellers to Bali to be careful (like he was). Pull the other leg. No sympathy from me. The old buffoon deserves everything he lost. I won’t donate anything if he starts a GoFundMe campaign, unless it’s to shore-up the psychiatric wing at Perth Hospital.
