Paul you really need to change your meds. I repeat for claritys sake: "Nominee" is what we Bule call the owner of "our" land. HE IS THE LEGAL OWNER OF THE LANDNO ONE ELSE CALLS HIM A NOMINEE, NO ONE!Since this person is the legal owner of the land (commonly called "OWNER") why would there be any legal restriction on how much land he can own? I don't know of any country or system where any strictures or limits are placed on how much land a private person can own - do you?
spicyayam
I haven't heard of a limit to how much land an Indonesian can own. There must be people in Sumatra and Kalimantan that have huge plantations of thousands of are of land. I have heard however of people putting land in other family member's names however because of tax reasons.
davita
Markit is correct...we are the only ones that think of this person as a nominee. To Indonesians the name on the title to the property is the owner...end of story. I've also never heard of restrictions. My brother-in-law (or his wife) own 4 houses and land in different parts of Indonesia which doesn't include the 'luxury' apartment he owns in Jakarta...which I paid for and he has only ever visited....for lunch!

Dave I think between us we can fill that place up - can you imagine how popular you will be if everyone one on this forum knew they had a place like that they could stay(party) at in Jakarta?Get No.idea over there with 4 or 5 of his "virgin" test subjects and you'd need someone with CPR practice on the staff.

I've always seen myself as a brothel owner and my wife as a mamasan...in fact, she had dinner in 'Mamasans' with her Tai Tai girls just last week. Maybe they were hatching a plan behind my back....:icon_e_surprised:

During my own wedding my total focus was how to get thru' the huge and long-winded reception and shaking hands with hundreds....without booze. This problem was solved by my new wife's many flight hostess colleagues re-filling my water glass with iced vodka.IMO Indonesian weddings are extravaganzas...best left to them to arrange.:eagerness::drunk:

not even close just met the Imam 2 days ago in Lombok Timor. Never met him before.I have met an Imam in Sanur 2 times ,once for the procedure and other changing to Muslim .

Based on Indonesian regulation dealing with the ownership of the land, in this case the regulation number: 5 year 1960 ( still valid until today) states that the maximum of a person (now a family) having land is 7.5 ha (wet land/rice field) or 9 ha (dry land) for the less occupied areaHowever at the moment Bali is considered as a fully occupied area, maximum 5 ha (wet land) or 6 ha (dry land)
Would you kindly link to your source on the specific sizes.I've had UU5/1960 in my 'favorites' for a number of years and refer to it for confirmation on foreign ownership law. I just re-read and it doesn't give any restrictions on sizes...http://faolex.fao.org/docs/pdf/ins3920.pdf.Article 10 to the UU, regarding agricultural land, it does say that the legislators will regulate in future... so I'd be interested to read what ultimately was legislated.

I thought your mention of 'Emir' meant your future father-in-law. An Imam is NOT an Emir...better get yor Muslim terminology straight. They ask questions before they cut your dick...:icon_eek:

Sorry, I would if I could but that text in blue is straight from the email I receivedThere was not a link includedI have sought further input from another source and I will see what comes back from there
I await further input and don't disagree that there may be such legislation....but would ask...what was the authority of your source that you believe to be true.Countless times I've asked Indonesians for information, even for directions, and been misled. I'm of the belief they don't comprehend to say "sorry, don't know!"
davita
But I also believe you and your research and the fact that you have that link at the ready
In that case you might be interested to download UU/2011 Immigration...but I warn it's over 100 pages of pdfhttp://www.imigrasi.go.id/phocadownloadpap/Undang-Undang/uu%20nomor%206%20tahun%202011%20-%20%20english%20version.pdf

Thanks, but no thanksI am not a reader(I am more a writer)However, I will remember this is available to me if I need itPoring through legalese bores me and I start yawningThat's why I did not become a lawyer
OK - my other friend came back with 'as far as he knows, it is 9ha' and it is not available onlineA good move would be to quiz an experienced Balinese NotarisAs for why does this rule exist - saya tidak tahuI'd be guessing about that
Paul I'm beginning to think you are the living personification of the "shaggy dog story" it/you go on and on and on and on and I'm not clear why. Who gives a rats ass if the limit is 8ha or 20 or 200? Do you have any idea how big a ha is? A fecking footy field is only .6 or .8 haYou seem to miss the point entirely that this is Indonesia - there are no laws that can't be broken or ignored or bought off so any "limit" that you happen to find for your "nominee" and his lang will only be on paper and largely pointless. Why do you give a feck?More to the point why should we?I would hazard a guess that no one on this forum has more than 1, maximal 2 ha so your entire endless discussion is completely academic, not to say pointless as far as I can see. Can I suggest that you start a blog here? That way you can write to your hearts content on any subject you get a woody for and only those that want to read it have to. Please have mercy on those of us that also have a life.

ah Davita there are ways a bule does not need a dick cutting dont believe every thing you read or people tell you .
