TV Gadget???

I came across this today. A device that is supposed to enable access to worldwide TV. If course it looks a much more attractive option than paying monthly fees. At the moment am renting a dish and service from Indovision so I guess it would mean buying one's own dish. And then the issue of having it arrive through the Indon customs system. Thanks in anticipation of responses

I guess it is a Kodi box. You can also install Kodi for free onto your laptop. You can then play around with it and see if that is what you need. They have various addons to get more viewing options. There is a bit of learning curve. One of the reasons people buy these boxes is that they are already set up with a bunch of channels.

What a lot of bull. Completely legal? They don't give a channel list but if they offering names like HBo or Disney then it's not legal and may become blocked later. They say ultra HD - laughable. There is almost no Ultra HD tv content anywhere at present.

Having looked at the picture of their set-top box is almost certainly an Android TV box - search Tokopedia for "Android TV" and you will see many from about $40. I would recommend the Mibox 3 from Xiaomi for around $100 which has Android version 6. You can install Kodi from the app store. Then it's up to you what Kodi add-ons you go for and they are what gives you access to many TV channels and movies. Because the movies are free you know that you are streaming pirated copies.

Thank you for the various responses. Given that pirate material means artists gets no return for their work I will pass. Used to have a shop selling music CDs and was often offered burnt, very cheap CDs. It is hard enough to make a living as a singer, songwriter without having the small royalty stolen so I could never bring myself to buy the pirated stuff. So, I guess I will pass on the wonder device
