ISPM 15 is an acronym for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measure no. 15 issued by the International Committee of the IPPC plants or entities in the organization at the FAO.In short, it is the international rule that requires wooden packaging to fullfil several conditions before being used for export purpose.- Wood packaging should be of hard material of wood.- No knots and bark.- Dry and smooth in four sides of the wood.- The wood should be fumigated.The purpose of this rule is to prevent the spread of insects, pests, termites and fungi as well as from one country to the importer or exporter from one region to another.
