I was already very much positive surprised when I got my first KITAP in 2011 at Immigration Office in Singaraja. It worked very well, no"donations" asked or expected. After many years wasting a lot of money for agents I tried it on myself and it - worked!
After 6 years I had to travel the long way from Karangasem to Singaraja to apply for the final (lifelong) KITAP. Again, excellent, polite and helpful service by the officers. It took only 75 minutes and then I was told that we would be informed when the payment and rest of work has to be done.
This is not an office you experience so many here in Indonesia, it is First Class. Thank you so much!

Yesterday I had to bring the letter to Denpasar Kantor Wilayah ... Also very helpful promising that the answer should come within 8 weeks from Jkt. Hope they are reliable as the Balinese offices

I have also only had good experiences at the Singaraja office and even got invited to the head's office for a chat. They were great with our kids when they had to get pictures done for their Indo passports.

Living here since 2oo6 and we made everything with immigration Tuban by ourselves. We never used any agent for: Social Visa extensions, Changing to Kitas & Kitas extension, changing to Kitap and now to Kitap extension.
The office staff in Tuban immigration always very helpful, friendly and polite, never ask for any "donations" or anything else. Same with Kantor Wilayah in Denpasar.
I think it's a question of your behavior. If you are polite and friendly their reaction and assistance will be the same. That's my experience.
But of course I'm now happy got my "Kitap Forever", no boring bureaucracy again. I just have to come to Immigration again in 5 years just to say "hello-I'm still alive".
