Has anyone had problems wih there ZTE 609 accepting passwords? l have reset and gone back to factory settings and it won't accept the default password. l am contemplating buying a more reliable modem router is this the answer?

I know Telkom has changed it before. Did you try: user/user
If you are using the fibre service, I would just use the one they provide. In the past when we have had a hardware problem with the router they have just come and replaced it.

I agree with Spicy. Leave the Telkom router with their settings. For local control get another router to be the mainstay of your home network. This is what I do. Ask if you want more details.
