DenpasarHouse wroteObviously, I have no knowledge of your partners situation but I'd like to give you some general advice about Indonesia.
Very often, the stories you're told turn out to very different from the reality on the ground. A lot of time it's not even out-and-out lies that you have to worry about, it's just people's poor communication skills and different cultural expectations about what is pertinent information.
It can be exhausting, and sometimes down-right impossible, to get to the bottom of a situation in a foreign country, in a language and culture you're not familiar with.
Again, I obviously don't know the situation, but I'm guessing there's a lot of background information you're not being told.
For example, hypothetically, you might find out that the house actually isn't in your partner's name at all. It's her Dad's and the Dad didn't pay the lawyer's bill and that's why the lawyer rented out the house and so on, and so on, until you just want to shoot yourself . . . and them too.
Anyway, I hope it all works out. Good luck.
your right

davita wroteHi Steve...your partner may have some help by approaching the Klian of the Banjar she is located. Bali Banjars are powerful and may be protected by so-called "community helpers' who, in fact, belong to 'Laskar' or 'Baladika' gangs.
A cash contribution to the Banjar can help smooth things....
