Nydave wroteYes Davita I absolutely agree, dont get me wrong im a huge f1 fan, absolutely love the sport, but for any country to host such an event its runs into astronomical amounts of $$$$,first there is the cost of building the track, but along with that they have to have hotels close by to accommodate the fans, for example I use to drive from Ny to Quebec for the Canadian f1,im talking about back in the later 90`s,even then a ticket for the race only was around $400,i was lucky cause I didn't need to stay over night, its a 6 hour drive for me,but in those times there were an average of 120,000 people attending the race,so yes it generates huge money, but the cost of building the track and the accommodation to house all the fans is crazy, then the host country has to sign a contract with f1 for the privilege of hosting the race, for a number of years, this runs into millions, places like Singapore that already have the hotels and whatever are still finding it hard to make ends meet to cover the cost of f1,you have to remember its like a 4 day event once a year,,,Malaysia has been hosting f1 for many years, but this year they announced that 2017 would be the last year they will host, because of the cost,so given all thes facts Indonesia is no where near hosting f1 ,well at least not in my life time,,i agree with you ,Indonesia has many other options to attract tourism, without all the expences involved in F1,
Insert sad face here :(
