JohnnyCool wroteMost Balinese take their religion extremely seriously. It’s unlikely you’d ever come across a normal home without temples. Any sizeable place will have three shrines externally and maybe one or two inside. And if you rent a Balinese house, the Balinese will want and need access occasionally to place their offerings.
I lived and built a house once in Java. In a very small village (near Bantul, Jogjakarta). There was "only" one mosque nearby, but it was extremely loud. Imagine if I'd asked the locals to remove it? Getting the sound volume turned down was basically impossible. My “solution”? Eventually sold up and moved back to Bali.
I don’t think that your wife will like living in Bali. Maybe you should both consider some other island.
balinese owner for me is no problem , the owner or his staff arrive by appointment a couple of times a year place a few offerings at the rear temple , no issue . my wife is muslim . living in java is another story bloody noisy the mosques never stop especially in ramadan , I think its a form of mind control , keep the population knackered easier to control.
