Contacted yesterday 21st to be informed by my agent that to extend my retirement kitap which expires on the 21st August that the cost will be 55 million,I have no intention of paying that amount of money.I'm married my wife is Balinese at the time of moving here there want many other options and the retirement visa was easy to arrange apart from the cost do you think it's worth going along to Immigration to discuss the matter. Was thinking EPO visa run to Singapore collect sosbud return and convert that into a spouse sponsored kitas or are there any other options for me to try,I don't have to much time left could be this is why they left it so late in telling me the good news, they also said it was for life no need to visit immigration ever again I' know after reading articles on this forum that statement is incorrect.Help with this matter would be most helpful Albert Sidney Sanur

I am due to a Kitap next January, my agent tells me it cost 35 million Idr for 5 years. Oops 20 million difference seems a lot.

I don't see any reason to discuss 'things' with the immigration, they can't help you in regards to what your agent/sponsor is charging you. Personally would indeed do the EPO to Singapore and collect a sosbud-visa (sponsored by wife), and then convert that to a kitas sponsored by wife. You can also convert to the 2-year kitas sponsored by wife.

yes mine was a little less back in 2009 the 55 million is for the first extension so you get your kitap in January five years later you get it extended you may want to ask your agent what they will charge you for the same thing I'm using Bali Ide have been for the last ten years.the actual visa fee at immigration as from 3rd July 2014 increased to 10,000 million.

If you're married to a local then you should really be on a spouse sponsored Kitas, it will save you a ton of $$

Gilbert thanks very much for your information I didn't realize you could get a two year kitas that's even better, will my agent return my blue book or is that down to me also what about my ktp, sim's and Karta Keluarga will I have to get my name removed when applying for kitas and is there anything else I may have forgotten ? once again thanks for the info.

you're welcome Albert.Getting the Exit Permit should go via your agent/sponsor, so the blue book you should give to the agent who then handles the Exit Permit.Don't remove your name from anything that actually proves you are married for X amount of time already..Easiest is just go for the sosbud sponsored by wife and upon return go to the nearest Imigrasi to start the process of converting this sosbud into a KITAS sponsored by wife. They will give you list of things you need to show/give copies of, such as wedding-certificate or buku nikah, Kartu Keluarga etcetc...It may seem a daunting task (facing imigrasi without agent) but the process is pretty simple and straight forward. Ofcourse you can choose to have an agent take care of legwork, but I have no idea how much he/she would charge for this..
