Hello everyoneMy name is Franco, I'm traveling to Bali this 10th of August with my fiancee, we want to open a freight forwarding company ( and extension of the one we work for in Chile) but I'm not sure what type of company I should open. We've been looking for consultation with legal agencies but the prices are REALLY high. Could anyone help me out? I'd really appreciate it guys, anything helps. Which company should I open for a freight forwarder ? or where could I look this up ( I've read a LOT, mostly i've learned there is a lot of corruption..). A recommended agencies for legal consultation ? a notaries or lawyer that is not too expensive ? Maybe an expat community we can join?.My fiancee is going to study in IKIP saraswatitabanan, so we need to live near by tabanan or tanah lot, any suggestions? we are staying a year btw. We are looking to spend 2.500.000 to 6.000.0000 a month on a house ( yearly rent paid up front, or is that a bad choice? I guess I need guidance in that too... but thats the price range we've seen in ruma123 ) Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forum! I don't know about freight forwarding, but I thought I would reply to your post. Do you mean a company to help people import or export products or both? There are a lot of companies doing it already, but I know people are always asking for recommendations for a company, so I am sure you could concentrate on a particular niche. People here are always reporting problems with custom's agents, so for me personally I would hate to have to run that kind of business. You should start with the BKPM website and see if you can find anything there related to your business.

Thanks man, I appreciate your reply. I've tried that page but I can't seem to find anything regarding my trade. Well a freight forwarder is a company which pretty much does what you said, help people import/export ( doing a lot of paper work and advising, getting better prices etc.)Well that's actually good to hear, we are very specialized in quality of service and delivering exact fees ( no surprises!).

I would imagine you would need contacts in the right department to make it work right....do you have that ?

I suppose so, I think we do, at least my company's director went to Bali and met some people in the right department as you call it... so yes.
