Yep, knew they used your bandwidth, as they state that in their terms, so turned it off every time it wasn't needed and it still worked a treat.
Only an FYI, if you didn't know. For me it's a deal breaker. I pay $4 a month for UNOTelly VPN so I can watch Netflix (about $7 per month). This works out way cheaper than buying DVD's and I avoid Posif censorship in the deal with the VPN.Zep

Markit - you're happy to know you're part of a huge botnet? Don't worry about dynamic link libraries and what some companies are hooking in to on your system. As long as it's working a treat for you."Luminati" sounds suspiciously like "Illuminati", but maybe that's coincidence. As Zep66 mentioned - free stuff is not always free. A better solution is to go with a paid-for, reputable VPN service. Even the best ones only cost $100/year. I can't think of one "free" VPN that ever worked for me.One other service I've been using for years is Adblock Plus (free). I've noticed lately that it hasn't been blocking ads, (like it's supposed to do, and did in the past). I stopped it running in my browser and replaced it with uBlock. Guess what? The ads that were bugging me disappeared instantly.:icon_eek:

As I said in my post I only used Hola when I was being naughty and surprisingly that isn't really that often and the rest of the time 95% it was turned off. I don't think paying $100/year is a bargain for something I hardly use and that is offered, with some caveats, for free, elsewhere - but each to his or her own. With Tri you get a really shatty connection but no problems with postif. For Adblock to function correctly it has to download/update it's database regularly from a couple of sources that tend to change occasionally. Perhaps check if that was the issue?

A simple way around internet positif is to use DNScrypt, just google it

Yes, since they've switched off their transparent proxies about a month ago, now need just avoid their DNS lock to get the full access to the internet.I've done this by configuring iptables on my router, so no need to change anything on my devices.
