Hi there. Relatively new to Bali but 25 years in Indonesia. Semi retired in Bali, picking up work when I can, otherwise just hanging around to get my daughter through International school. Nice to meet you all.

Australia, SA to be precise, Ceduna to be preciser. Spent 24 of the last 26 years in Indonesia, mostly Kal-Tim but also Sumbawa and Kal-Sel. Semi retiring in Bali, renting in Kerobokan/Banjar Semer. Thanks Ronb, Kalimantan is big and interesting, unfortunately being deforested very quickly. The Malaysian half still has a lot of rainforest but the Indonesia half is quickly disappearing. Any advice on good places for live bands appreciated.

hehehe... Clearly you didn't tell the Dayaks of Kuching they live in Indonesia (i.e. Kalimantan)...you might not have lived to tell the story of your visit...;) During Confrontation my Hastings aircraft was machine-gunned by Indonesian soldiers, on the ground, as we did low-level supply-drops to our Gurkha soldiers. We landed safely at Kuching airport but the aircraft was a write-off. A couple of days later a council of Dayaks presented two Indonesian soldiers severed heads to the Gurkha commander. I heard they were given many bags of rice....:D
