I was searching for any abandoned places in popular places at Bali and I found this plane on Google Maps! I was shocked :icon_e_surprised:.. Surprisingly not many people are talking about it.I found a recent post that writing about this plane:mehthesheep.com/bali/blog/strange-sightings-leaked-abandoned-plane-found-google-maps-bali/Why could somebody hide a plane like that in Indonesia?

Different plane. The one Spicy mentions is up near the bukit. The other one is in the Legian area.

Yeah, thanks a lot everyone. Now my wife wants me to buy a plane.The one in the original article is past the airport (Jimbaran/Benoa). Not in Legian.As for the one on the Bukit, how the hell did they get it up there?

I only know it's called Gate 88 and it's above Arena Restaurant on the corner of Jln Raya Kerobokan and Jln Raya Semer in Kerobokan. I've only seen it when driving past. Haven't been inside.

Hi everyone...I'm still on board the forum and travelling between Vancouver/Seattle but my little netbook crashed so I bought an all-in-one Acer to bring back. (thanks markit for the heads-up).Next week going on Holland American 'Zaandam' for an Alaskan cruise, then return to Bali mid August. Recently the weather here in Vancouver has been hotter than Bali and many forests in BC/WA are ablaze and hundreds of houses have been destroyed. Later...I'll write a blog of our adventures. I'm still practising with this Win 8.1 so please forgive if I make mistakes.Back to topic...The A/C matselah has posted is just junk on the roof of the old Arena pub/resto...the building is being rebuilt/refurbished and I heard it will be a Ranch Market? and then the Arena will re-open...no idea about the plan for the plane on the roof as it is still being assembled.Here is a pic of it when it was functional...[url]http://m9.i.pbase.com/g1/62/693962/2/97566079.fxeR9frr.jpg[/url]It is a DC10 and was originally purchased by British Caledonian Airways. They sold to a US Co. who converted it to a cargo A/C. It was then sold to a Zimbabwe cargo operator and it is still in those Zimbabwe colors. Years later it was scrapped at Jakarta airport (they recycle many scrapped A/C components there), then someone transported the stripped fuselage to Bali for re-assembly on the Arena roof...the bits and pieces have been there for a couple of years. It will be interesting to see the final result.

Hey there Davita. Which all-in-one did you finally pick up? My daughter is namely also interested in buying one and any reviews would be good. Here in Bali it's bloody cold, gets all the way down to 23C at night and not much over a shivery 28C during the day - got all fires on and the long-johns buttoned up.
