Yup...born Dundee Royal Infirmary 3 June 1937 (80th Birthday on Saturday) and lived in Hilltown In 1 bed council flat until siblings born....then moved to a Swedish timber house in Linlathen. (temporary housing). Didn't see any future in Dundee so joined the RAF Apprentice scheme at age 15 and never returned to Dundee to live. So I don't know much about Scotland. You from where?

North of Perth is more than half of Scotland (the better half, in my opinion). Don't be shy, spill the beans. I'm from Alyth, was back there in 2015 just in time for the big flood. Sometimes daydream about going back for good so my daughters can lose the dreadful Australian accent they seem to have picked up. But....

You can try sc-hart but my memory of riding a bike around Blairgowrie was anything but memorable....just farms. As school-kids they made us go pick potatoes around there during the harvest season...it was supposed to stimulate farming instincts but all I remember was cheap labour. Also, when returning to the jute-mills that provided the economy, and the smell, of Dundee is when I rejected the place and moved on. Did remember and enjoy Broughty Ferry on a sunny day...but that was an exceedingly rare event.

I am just curious, do you guys cry when listen the bagpipes? I am Celtic and I love the sound of the bagpipes, I live for 5 years in Edinburgh and one of the things I enjoy the most, it was to go to the Ceilih Fridays and Saturdays nights. Sadly I never went to the Highlands, only around Edinburgh and Glasgow, I really would like to go back one day. These days for me still very emotional listen the sound of the bagpipes, I cry easily! Hahaha I know you are man and man suppose not to cry! anyway just curiosity and feeling nostalgic and putting back memories.

As a Celt you will be aware that it was actually the Irish that invented the bagpipes. They gifted them to the Scots...and the Scots haven't got the joke yet....;)

Well, if you need any advice about Bali please let me know. I'll do my best to help. I'm not in business there but am married to a Balinese and have a bit of understanding of how things work there. If you are in the jewellery game (I'm looking at your avatar) then Bali has lots of potential. I can put you in touch with a Canadian who was trying to sell her jewellery business a while back - don't know if it is still on the market or not. If you were born in Alyth then I'm thinking you may have been born in the same place I and all my siblings were. Viewpark nursing home. Is that the case? It is certainly a small world these days. Hi Sam, So sorry I haven't replied before now, and thanks very much for offering to help me. I've managed to find out a fair bit about setting up in business on Bali. Can you (or anyone else) tell me if the agencies which assist foreigners with visas and setting up PMA's are licensed by the Government? Yes, I was born in Viewpark too! Can't help with agents, I haven't had any dealings with them though some members here have. I'd guess that some kind of government licence or permit is required but the fact that they are licensed by the government doesn't mean a whole lot in Bali. You don't have the protections that you would have in the UK, you are pretty much on your own. BTW, Viewpark was for sale a while back as a private residence, if you had GBP 700,000 to spare. I wasn't tempted. Good luck.
