Ironic that when the USA finally decides to support a team sport that truly does represent them on a 'World' stage that their 'Icon' is anything but the 'image' of the 'All American Boy' ... that would be Jean Claude van Dempsey.However I must commend the whole team on their guts and determination, currently all they lack is midfield skills .... and the guile to survive in the so-called 'modern game. The former will come with time as more and more schools and colleges take up 'soccer' ... and sadly ... the latter will come when they learn to cheat, dive and pull shirts.... and YES I do know that 'soccer' has been on a lot of school sports programmes in the US for many years, particularly 'Ladies Soccer' but the sport has always come a poor fourth behind Rounders, Netball and Rugby Lite....[ATTACH]2039.vB[/ATTACH]
