Hi,Keen to find out if anyone is wishing to do a home swap holiday with us. We have a rental property in Bengkulu - leased/paid up until December. We are keen to link up with like-minded expats currently living in Indonesia long term, who are keen for a change. We have been here for 12 months. Theres good surf around these parts. Not maybe of the quality on the Bukit peninsular but certainly you'll be having better quality surfs as you'll get more waves than in Bali as you will most probably be surfing on your own, or with the handful of locals who surf. We have a beach break with better quality waves than kuta beach, a left hand reef break and a sand bottom point - all easy 5-15 mins scooter ride from our home. I will include my Honda scooter with a custom board rack big enough too fit a Malibu or Mal and a shortbread, 2 shortboards. House comes with ADSL, cable tv, 3 bedrooms, fully furnished, washing machine (if you decide to use it, one of the neighbours runs a laundry), security post in the street, Good secure fencing, corner store nearby. From here you also have a good base to explore south Sumatra, Pulau Tikus, Enggano Island and north to Padang (launching point for Mentwaii's).Why do we want to do a house swap?? To save money and spend time in other parts of Indo. I have been coming to Indo for many moons and decided to take an early retirement here last year. Why did I pick Bengkulu??? I wanted to surf quiet waves but still have some semblance of city life (mostly to keep my wife happy). Bengkulu has a population of 300 000 residents. Its not a big or busy city, but there are 2 Malls, Cinema 21, KFC etc etc.. It's an extremely safe and friendly place, but is like most of Indonesia a fairly conservative place. That means that out of respect to locals, women should not wear revealing clothes, even on the beach, and guys should dress smartly if your out and about (collared T-shirt, going out thongs :)Anyone interested can PM me and I provide more info. Can't post me email yet as I have not posted enough on this forum. I'm a regular at Indonesian expats forum.we are keen for a minimum of 2 weeks somewhere in Bali or any other surf places in indo. My wife particularly is keen for Bali shopping etc so I guess anywhere in South bali. But open to all offers from other islands/parts of Indo (as long as you have surf or decent fishing)cheersSteve and Kristine
