Having to repaint the kitchen now and it is definitely not before time as the white paint (I know, I know) is going a lovely greasy yellow. My question is in Europe/UK we used a thing to remove the grease on the paint called Sugar Soap prior to repainting but of course here in the wilds of the East there is nothing like that available - greasy walls here are a mark of prosperity - proves you've been eating I guess. What do you recommend - either here or from Denpasar? By the way, just painting over the grease doesn't work - it just comes right on thru again. Ta in advance Markit

I asked the same question a few years ago - amazing how time flies: https://balipod.com/forum/threads/where-to-buy-sugar-soap-or-something-similar.5831/

Me, who's always preaching about looking shite up here! - so solly, so solly. It really didn't occur that this had been asked already. Many thanks spicy will try at Mitral11 or Hardys tomorrow.

One word, Tri Sodium Phosphate same thing
... any local brand name or 'nickname' please? Oh and that is 'brand' by the way, cos' it would have been a bit like 'divvy' if I had said 'band' ... because of course I could have just Googled it anyway and probably found out that it was a Pink Floyd Tribute band based in Alice Springs with absolutely no skills whatsoever in removing grease and cooking oil stains embedded in walls ... despite the fact that one of their tunes has been renamed 'Another Slick in the Wall' ... and yes I have been up all night and yes I have drunk wayyyyyyyyy too much coffee and taken a double dose of meds ... but The World Cup is finally here and as I take every event like this as maybe the last time I will see it I have to soldier on ... tonight's games the Cloggies then the Socceroos ... love to see them do well, then a full weekend as English Teams take to the field with different shaped balls on Saturday ... thankfully no F1 this week (note to self drop Bernie a text to thank him for his consideration) .... what was the question again?
