Coconut's Dying?!

Here's some pix of a couple of my coconut palms that look to be dying. My staff are (of course) very dogmatic about the whole thing "karma, bugs, weather, etc" but I would appreciate anyone's advise on ways to stop the spread as I presume these two are beyond helping. I guess the palm trees dying because of your bad sense of "humor" Markit. Palm trees are very sensitive regarding that. Kids who got electrocuted in public parks and you are talking about beer. awesome...

Any chance they got hit by lightning? Have seen several palms die from this.

I've never understood this reverence we should all exhibit for death and dying, why? It's something we all do, like shitting, and should not be put in any different level. The Balinese and Irish have it completely right - have a party and get drunk. Dead kids, dead old people.. from my perspective the latter is far more of a pity. Now about my sense of humor - to be lectured by a Dutchman about humor!?... ha! I know 4 Dutchmen well and all 4 haven't got 1 sense of humor between them - it's what supports my belief that they are very closely related to the Germans, oh and there's that language too - same fecking language even thought the Dutch try hard to deny it. Next time anyone gets a chance just ask a Dutchman where the word "Dutch" comes from ... they don't have a clue. It's an American invention. You heard it here first!!!

Hi Markit I asked my GF about this, she’s spent most of her life farming at the family place on Mt Batur Chilli, Beans, corn etc. but they have a heap of coconut trees which she still climbs. The answer was “It’s the beetle or lightening “ The beetle being rhinoceros beetle. Thanks for that info, I've written to them to get some of their fungus.

I ended up taking down two trees and digging up their roots too. Am hoping this will stem the tide but have another tree that's looking a bit sad too. Never heard back about the fungus or did I find the type of pesticide in DPS that was recommended would kill the Rhino beetles so it's a bit of a one man battle.
