Ok, it is not directly related to Bali, but there was a recent 'Ancient Earth' event held in Ubud where the people running have quite a few alternative beliefs. I was just surprised there are people believe this cr*p and even try to defend. Even saying NASA's photos of the earth are fake. They were also pushing a 'free energy' machine, which they call a "qt-pi". People that believe this sort of rubbish (conspiracy, flat earth, any fucking religion, anti vaxxers, etc) are impossible to argue with and, secretly, I believe they actually know they are talking BS but have some ulterior motive for carrying on in their seeming ignorance (getting laid, money, followers) But what do I believe?

Yes, it all seems very cultish. I was wondering also about their motivation. If you want to build something with 'free energy' why not do it with solar or some other renewable resource? And yeah if you argue with them, they will tell you to open your mind and don't believe everything you read.

Some years ago I was approached by a group to give funds to help bring about "peace." Called themselves "Raelians." Looked them up and found that this was a cult begun by a former racing car driver who had met aliens and was raising money to build a "church" so that the aliens could come to earth. Stone the crows. If we added up all the members of cults and weird organizations I suspect those of us who aren't "members" of a higher order are probably in the minority.

Hallelujah....people are waiting for aliens so they can convert them to [B]their[/B] religion...and we worry about peace in the world. When will we comprehend organised religion has caused discord on this planet...now those people want to ship that failed concept to another. Gimme a break.

Ohh Davita, you doubting Thomas. No, the Raelians are not wanting to convert the Aliens to another religion. They are preparing to build a church with the design given to them by the Aliens. Actually I seem to remember they called it an embassy rather than a church. Thanks Harry but I'll pass on your links...however, if any of your aliens come to Bali I'll be happy to shout them a beer in my pub...better hurry tho' as I may not be on this planet much longer. HE has a better future for me elsewhere where I'll begat 6 virgins for my good behaviour on earth...o_O
