Markit No, for any big budget item it's worth the trip to the capital unless you just hate the shit out of you money. If you don't hate your money: Kartika in Kuta or UFO in Renon are your best bets. Do the research to find out exactly the model you want/need and then check out the online providers for their best deals then go to the above and compare. I would in any case recommend you buy local as you will need guarantees and easy access to service. My 4K HD Samsung has developed serious sicknesses (lines and shit) which need repair. ON the plus side Samsung has a service team that travel around Bali so you don't have to bring it back to where you bought it.
davita My Samsung 32inch in Jakarta has those lines and some kind of delamination at the ends and corners. It is way out of warranty but I've never seen this before and the TV is hardly used as we aren't in Jakarta too often....the TV works fine but the picture is crap. I'm about to buy another TV and wondering what model...is this a Samsung problem or do other TV makes also suffer.
Markit Where please is the UFO in Gianyar? If you search the online problem pages Samsung have a some green line problems. Whether that points to all the rest, I of course didn't look. As one-time electronic engineer (now without any test gear except a fading brain) I would suspect that the higher end the TV is (chest way-the-fuck-out, mine is a 4k UHD model) the more sensitive it is to variations in voltage, humidity and just life. I have a local voltage regulator hooked to everything important/expensive but in the past have had a regulator saved by the laptop going up in flames... Now trying to get one from Europe that might be a bit better... I love the Samsung picture and resolution, that's all!
Rayrayzaray Thanks all . Have had no problems back in Oz with my samsung led and easy to load up my phone and screen mirror when in Bali . Have priced in Denpasar at UFO but didn't realise there was an outlet in Gianyer . Thanks for the help .
