Anybody know where I could hire one of these for a week at the end of May for a week. By the way hello told friends

Jimbo welcome back and good to hear you are still around. Last I heard you were coming to Bali ... finally. Since you do know the place I wonder at your asking for something that will absolutely not be any good for getting around here. Unless you only want it for your own compound or you live on the only good street on Bali with sidewalks...? In all my time here I have never, ever seen a mobility scooter. You might want to consider getting 4 guys to carry you around instead King Canute?

I agree with Markit that getting around on an electric scooter would be troubling. I know 2 guys that have folding wheel chairs and drive themselves and unfold their chairs to use to get to where they want to be...mostly across the street from the carpark to the pub I frequent.

They are used regularly on Danau Tamblingan (main street) in Sanur . Don't know if they are hired or owned or brought in with them.

Agree with Normy, have seen them numerous times used by disabled persons on Danau Tamblingan as they traveled close to the sidewalk but on the street often but not always with a companion walking behind or on the adjacent sidewalk. Do not know the source of the scooters, but assume they have a local provider by virtue of the frequency of their sightings, and different drivers. No Idea (forum member) could be a good contact with his knowledge of Sanur.

I thought there was earlier posts requesting mobility scooters, I have also seen mobility scooters around Sanur but where they are from??

So unless you live in Sanur forget the mobility scooter?! Would love to see how it works in Ubud cause if you weren't handicapped before you drove your funky little car there you sure would be after you tried it. If I was looking for excitement I'd give the damned thing a go on the main drag in Kerbokan. Weekends would be best.

Hi Markit Log time no hear. Yes I am coming for a short visit at the end of May. Legs are not so good due to blocked arteries but otherwise fit and well. Balimobility have them as I found out after some research but very expensive $115 for a week. I will be based in Sanur and this may well help. Alternative is a car and driver :-(

That seems pricey...I'd think you could rent a push wheelchair and a nice strong Balinese lady to push you around for considerably less.

I have a very strong Torajan lady (Wife of 34 years) but its her holiday too :-)

I have been to Bali countless times and always bring my mobility scooter with me and get around with no difficulty. I stay in the heart of Kuta, near the monument. It is a small collapsible light one. Travel Scoot, also have a Lugger Scooter, no probs with either.

Come on you guys...I know that Thaiman's post did sound amusing, and I also laughed, but it is proper English as he has a period after monument.... so the next sentence stands alone. The rule of proximity is within a sentence not in a separate sentence. He could have phrased it better to give clarity...i.e. "[I]I have a Travel Scoot, it is a small collapsible light one, also have a Lugger Scooter, no probs with either.[/I]" or have added his sentence at the end of the post.... "[I]I stay in the heart of Kuta, near the monument."[/I] Many type posts on a phone which doesn't give much chance to use clear English....nor double check sentence format, spelling, etc....and, like this one, can end-up looking funny...:D
