Does anyone know where there is a phone that I can use to make an international reverse charge call (bloody banks and their security codes) Denpasar/Kuta area hopefully? Post offices had them once or do they still? Thanks in advance

I,ll look for a telkom office,internet is too slow here,cuts out on messenger..Last time I called a bank in Australia it cost me 200rb...first time I wasted 100rb on hold with my HP.

I would look for an internet place. They usually have telephone facility. I haven't been to Kuta for about 3 years. Then there were 2 places in poppies 1. Also a place on Jl Legian going South , left hand side about 3 or 4 hundred metres before Pantai Kuta corner. Experienced your problem when in Sanur. On phone for ages but got it done. Had to remember secret answers. Had lucky guess. Cost 150k. Then had to wait about 10 days for transfer to a business friends bank account. All good fun.

I just bought 250rb pulsa but if the **** hits the fan i,ll try poppies,thanks....commbank site says they can send code notification to the app but on the original phone i downloaded it on,not this one. aaarrgh....I wish the pricks would join the rest of the world and have an email address...

ok I bit the bullet and spent 170rb ringing commonwealth bank in OZ but have now changed my contact no. to indo number.....ps apparently they can send a new card to indo but costs $25,I ,ll wait for my sister to bring it

No, you don't need a good internet connection. Mostly the connection is good, but occasionally there's a short delay when speaking. Not so noticeable lately. Yes, can connect to both landlines and mobile phones and the price is about the same to most countries.

Simpati is the name of Telkomsel's cellular service. Remove the preceding "+" sign and substitute 01017, followed by the country code, etc. Using this prefix, the call is made via VOIP, just like Skype or Viber.

Nope, you don't need any internet connection at all. When you use the 01017 option they accept the call on their mobile network and then re-route it for you over the internet using VOIP. You can use it on any mobile phone with a Telkomsel SIM card, not just a new fangled 3 or 4G smartphone. I'd never had a problem with this until a few weeks ago when it just wouldn't work for some reason. It was working fine again then next day though.
