Hi LS9 and welcome to the forum. You may not know but this forum has just today changed its format so many are still not logged onto the new format.
I suggest you take your laptop to Rimo Trade Centre in . ...136 Jl. Diponegoro Denpasar.
It is a huge building almost entirely devoted to computers and associated tech stuff. You should ask which would be the best tecchie's to work on your laptop and check with them...probably just needs to be cleaned up. Be aware there are some people there that you may not want leave your computer overnight....be a little cautious and try to show you know all about computers and not naive.

Welcome Bali Computer Club - you have power issues and probably heat problems - since you're new to Bali I suggest you get a laptop cooler to put your lappy on OR stop streaming your films and just download them like the rest of us do. Send your check to Markit will fixit.

Probably dust/dirt that is caught in the fan. If you have small screw drivers you can remove the cover and clean the dust away. Otherwise take it to Rimo as @davita suggested. You can buy a laptop cooling pad and try just keeping it cool with a household fan until you get it fixed.

Hi!
I'm new to Bali and this forum and I'm having laptop issues and hoping to get either some advice or where I can take it to get fixed.
Last year after the Windows 10 upgrade my computer started freezing occasionally when I would stream. And the fan would make a lot of noise or it would buzz and the only way to stop it would be to manually shut it down. I contacted Microsoft a few times and thought that the problem was fixed ( they ran some scans and fooled with the power options) but it has started again. it happened just now and yesterday. yesterday when I rebooted it and started streaming again it all of a sudden just shut itself off after a while. And I couldn't turn it back on. I'd get no response from the power button. It was plugged in and fully charged at the time so I decided to unplug it and then it turned back on. That I've never experienced before. my laptop is only a year-and-a-half-old. Each time it happens I check to make sure my laptop is not hot... any ideas or suggestions what I should do or what might be wrong would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks

Hey thanks for all the replies! I've been having problems getting logged in to this site.. but I didn't think my laptop was getting hot because when I feel it it doesn't feel hot but maybe it does need to be cleaned out. I am somewhat concerned about going to Rimo and leaving my computer with someone there as I'm worried they won't have the same ethics as we do in the western world and obviously finding the right person who I can trust to both fix it correctly and not do other stuff to my laptop that they shouldn't... it sounds like that's the way to go since I don't have the necessary tools. Thanks everyone

I forgot to ask what is a reasonable price that I should expect to pay so that I don't get overcharged since budget is an issue for me? And if any of you know of a specific person or place in Rimo that you trust please let me know I would appreciate it!!
