Hi everyone, I'm in the market for a second hand Suzuki APV if anyone is looking to offload one. I'm budgeting for a price between 80 - 90 million. I'll take any colour but it must be one of the models that can seat 8 people. I think to accommodate 8 the two back seats need to be bench style seats. I not 100% sure, but I think this rules out the newer models. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.

Thanks Gilbert. I'm a big fan of TokoBagus. berniaga.com is also pretty good, if not better, for cars as they tend to prompt the person listing to add more details. e.g. Kilometres. As expected, the listings do need to be taken with a grain of salt. For example, "Ban Baru" is code for "We've cleaned and painted all the tires and only one of them is unroadworthy".Apparently, a 2005 model car that's done over 200,000 kms is "Jarang Dipakai".All said and done though, most listings are pretty accurate and the time saved by using the Internet is humongous.

you're welcome...everything advertised as "Baru", be it tires/battery/belts/shocks...just ask to see the receipt of whatever is "baru" :icon_wink:20K a year is not that much is it? by the way, you are planning to buy a car on Bali right, and not on java?

Whats the diff between buying on Bali to Java ?Besides the island of course...
DenpasarHouse
20K a year is average by Australian standards, but it's very easy for Aussies to accumulate kilometres considering the distances between cities and towns. Here in Bali however, my guess is that 20K a year would equate to a very well used car and to describe it as being "Jarang Dipakai" is just laughable.Yeah, definitely buying here in Bali. The number plates must start with DK according to my brother-in-law. The market is much bigger in Java but I think there's problems with buying a car from another island. I forget what they are, but mainly it's because I've got no time to spare to go looking in Java.

Just asked one of our family and he says Bules cannot buy vehicles on Java and take them to Bali but he doesn't know why...

https://balipod.com/forum/threads/bali-restricts-car-purchase.9875/I haven't yet got a KTP on a Kitas but was in Jakarta last week and told by the Toyota agent that we cannot buy a new car in Jakarta, as our Kitas has our location in Bali.

when buying a secondhand car, there's always the option of "pinjem KTP", this means that the name of owner in the BPKB and on STNK doesn't change..If this car is for example registered in Bandung (D-plates) means that the yearly taxes need to be paid at the samsat there (possible to have this done by a biro jasa), ofcourse this car can stay on the D-plates and be used on Bali by expat or indonesian alike.@davita, a kitas can only be issued with one adress on it, but one can own several properties all over Indonesia and thus can have the need for a vehicle at those properties..hence the dealer can register a new car using a copy of kitas and passport (for identification purposes) along with a surat domisili...either go straight to dealer with this surat or go to the nearest camat first and ask for a temporary KTP issued with your adress in Jakarta and then off to the dealer.

At this time I just gave up as it isn't a priority.....when it becomes more important...I'll follow your suggestion. Will the fact that both our properties are titled to nominees have any bearing on your suggestion?
