...and just when you thought there was nothing 'new and unique' ...yes I for one would jump at the chance of investing in a business promoted online on a forum ...as opposed to taking a 'business plan' and 'investment schedule' to a bank or professional finance broker...nice try!Off to the side I am looking for an investor in a 'new and unique' literary opportunity...the books are 'new' and 'unique' in the extreme as nobody else wrote them before....how unique is that...anyway about AU$200,000 should be enough...give or take a few bucks...try offering about AU$500 and let's see where things are going...Chow

49% partnership if cooperation brings satisfactory skills, ie law advise, notirary, finance etc. 24% if not. Shares in any net returns associated with the business which is currently being setup as a trust in Sydney which also includes a side business in light residential development opportunities and franchise opportunities in Sydney and Melbourne for the food based outlets. Will be posting the success of this trust in the very near future just so the unnecessarily opinionated repliers obviously trying to offload their own unhappy existence to others, can revel in the fact.

I would only consider if I had 51%
Hospitalityduo
Well than don't consider it. No business savvy intelligent entrepreneur with an intellectual property that was confident in it would ever hand over more than 49%. I'm not sure why you would want to go into business with a simple Simon doomed for failure but each to their own.
samsiam
Don't put yourself down like that....If you are so business savvy....why don't you have $200k ?
Hospitalityduo
Siam Siam, I never said I didn't. I'm just looking for expansion before launching. Any investor can invest on an already existing product. I'm looking for someone that has the guts to be there from the beginning.
samsiam
Why would you want a complete stranger on board a sure thing and give away 49%...for just 200k ?....if you have it that is.I know I never would.

I'm glad your so concerned for my outlook but in my country an individual and a partnership is taxed differently to a company or trust. As I am setting up a trust in my own country and will have activities that may or may not trigger CGT I do not wish to do twice the work for half the gains when I can lighten the load and reap the rewards. I am only handing over 49% if they bring expertise to the table, that I deem fitting and valuable enough to warrant. Even if I had a friend ( as opposed to the stranger your suggesting) that had the money, that wanted to invest, and met the quota, I wouldn't mix business with pleasure. I'm starting to think your just asking stupid questions for free advice.

free advice.......thats one of the funniest things I have read on here yet..Good luck with your pie shop.

Businessplan + location + ability to open up immediately, all systems ready to go"If this is correct, then that means you have done the hard stuff, like setting up the PMA + getting necessary licenses and permits + secured the location for X amount of years, met with ditributors of softdrinks and alcoholic beverages, found and trained staff, etcec...This raises the question in my mind, "Why would anyone at that point look for an investor or partner ?" I mean if I were you and everything is ready to go, believing in myself and my idea/product, I would roll the dice and keep 100% of future profits myself....What is your reason for not doing that ?At this point I see no need to go into the "setting up a trust in Sydney", depending on your reply I might do that in my next comment...So why the very very very complicated link to a trust in Sydney ?Last question, how much money have you invested up to this point, and what do you have to show for it (result of the investment made till now) ?Thanks.

Finally someone worth replying to. Clarification can only be general, but point 1. it's not a restaurant, it is a food based business not yet seen in Bali. Point 2. Me + 1 have combined total of 40 years hospitality experience and have opened many businesses in hospitality management which is why we decided when we opened our own we wanted to be funded partly or greatly by other markets ie the side development business based in Australia and the investor. It is extremely rare to make a huge marginal profit on most food based businesses. This particular one once in Australia will do a lot better compared to restaurants there, but with the price of products that come from outside of Indonesia, restaurant margins here have to be very delicately handled. Hospitality is our passion, and yes we expect this venture will be profitable but we don't want just profitable, we are looking at it like a hobby we can be proud of and flex our muscles but not go weak at the knees over seasons, or the demographics change in locational hotspot. We want the freedom to evolve the business, move the business and franchise the business when we are ready, not when our pockets are full. Hence the development side business. We are yet to choose a venue though and are a few favourites, a lot have been thoroughly explored and have held off from a lot of things till we see what the other partner brings and wishes to contribute. The trust is as priorly explained for the Australian side of the business and feel more comfort in the legalities and formalities that come with it. As explained in an earlier thread, these projects will be moving forward with or without an investor, I just seek the variety, the collaborational opportunity and hope to satisfy another persons desire to own a successful fulfilling business. I feel extremely fortunate and appreciative for the way my life's about to lead so why not pay it back.
