PLN has different units of meters where you add pulsa to buy electricity. These meters have a 10 digit dial which are used to add credit. These also have shortcut functions to check voltage, ampere, previous pulsa, switch of the alarm (both LED or sound) ... .First have a look on PLN website to see what type of meter you have (Star, Itron, Hexing, ...) at Meter Prabayar Itron | PT PLN (Persero)Then have a look on PLN's website to see what short codes your meter has at Cek ID Meter, Mematikan Alarm dan Lampu LED | Jual Token Pulsa Listrik Pintar

you have written history today :)very helpful for people with a pulsa meter

Thanks balibule, I have hexing HE120 which looks identical to the one you displayed. Would the codes be the same? If I use the 800 short cut does this show current credit? As I said in a previous post my meter shows ERR- - 2. Not so helpful. The pembantu buys the credit and puts it in the meter.

If I use the 801 short cut I can see the remaining credit. I haven't tried the 800 shortcut yet which is supposed to show the KWH counter (not the remaining credit).

Thanks I will try both codes later today and see what happens

I have a strange issue with my meter. Even if main switch is off, the numbers are decreasing. Using command that show current power usage in Watts, it shows different values between 5 to 300 W. So, say, if I went out of home at 7 am and switched off all the electricity completely, after I return back at 4 pm I found that readings were decreased by around 1kWh (not 0.01). My neighbors has found the same issue with their meters. All the meters the brand is Itron. Those meters should calculate usage in real time or can have some 'lag' like in my case?

Ok when you say "mains switch is off" I think you mean the switch inside your house? When you say "My neighbors has found the same issue with their meters." I get a weird feeling...The only way your meter could keep counting down when your "mains switch" (inside your house as opposed to the real "mains switch" which is in front of the meter and outside your house) is if the electric was still being used somewhere .... like perhaps by the neighbors!!There are countless examples in Asia where the neighbors have run a line to the Bule's house and are tapping his juice. Check it.

By the main switch i meant the real main switch that is connected directly to the meter after it. All the wires in this area are visible, I can see the wires from the meter output goes directly to this switch without any junctions. So any leakage of electricity in this area is impossible. The switch and the meter are both covered with the same transparent plastic box.

I have the same meter and just switched OFF at the C/B, on the meter, that you described. All power to my house is gone but the meter is still live and the LED reading now shines brighter. Your previous post is confusing as you say your meter measures Watts, but you later mention KWH's. I suggest you inform us what the meter says above the readings...is it KWHs or Watts (I doubt)?I.e. a Watt is an amount of electricity consumed...and is very small. A KWH is an amount of electricity consumed in 1 hour and is 1000 Watts per hour.

Well, on my LCD display by default it shows kWh that left on my "account". When u're consuming electricity, this amount is deducting. Once it reaches 0.05, the meter will cut electricity off until u refill by entering new token pin.If u'll enter 47 and then press enter it must to show the current power usage in Watts. As I understand, after u switch off the main switch, the power consumption must be shown as 0. But in my case, it showing any values between 300 and 5. So, according to this value, my remaining "balance" in kWh is decreasing. Also, I've noticed that normally when I'm using electricity as usually, it showing some value of current power usage in Watts. Then I switch on any additional device, for example AC, the value changing but not according the real usage. Because AC usually take a lot of power but the value of usage is increasing really slow. So it makes me to think the meter counts electricity usage not in real time. And this is confusing. So I've complained about the issue to PLN and now waiting for the answer.

You are mentioning watts and kilowatts in the same sentence ...one is 1000 times more than the other. The meter has a decibel point and it counts in real time.PLN will check the meter and I suggest looking over their shoulder while they do and impress them that you are knowledgeable...otherwise they try to cheat. I know...I've been there.BTW defrag...welcome to the forum...I see you have knowledge on computers and internet and that is good info for others.

I'm sorry for my english. Maybe I was unclear. But I never mentioned watts and kilowatt-hours in the same sentence. For watts, i was talking about the command that shows the power consumption in watts while by default meter shows amount in kWh left on "account".So, as i said before, it have some consumption itself but it isn't linear. Last 3 days I was checking the readings before I left home at 7 of morning and when I was back home around 4 pm. All these days the value being decreased was different. On Monday it was 1.05 kWh, on Tuesday 0.87 kWh, today it was 0.57 kWh. Of course, during that time I was not home, the main C/B was off, so all the electricity after the meter was absent. I have no explanation for the values, why they are so different. But if these amount are getting decreased in 9 hours, it's possible to calculate raw numbers how many kWh I losing during 24 hours and then during a month (because I think when I'm home and using electricity as usually, it charges me little bit more that I consume in fact). So in a month it can be amount equal with the price of few bottles of Bintang :)Thank you. Yes I have some knowledge about computers and internet as I'm an IT myself.

If you are still losing power even after your mains switch (which should cut all power to and from your house) is off then I suggest you quickly get an electrician to come look at your wiring - you, and perhaps your neighbor, both sound like you have a short to ground somewhere either in your mains box, since turning of the switch doesn't stop the loss, or between that box and your meter, or possibly a faulty meter. Apart from the obvious financial issues there is also a very real danger the place could burn down.
defrag
Yes I understand this. This is good idea to explain to the owner of the house that this issue can be cause of fire.Thank you.

Finally got fixed that issue 2 months ago.The reason was shared neutral wire with neighbours. So that's why their meter had the same issues. So crazy thing. Until I found that by myself, nobody tried to find the reason.
davita
So glad your situation is resolved but cannot understand the remedy. All neutrals are shared in the system from PLN. The circuit from the distribution point is 4 wires...3 are phase ABC (220VAC each) while the 4th is neutral.I can see the PLN pole opposite my house and one hot phase wire is connected to my house. Another villa is connected to another phase and another to the third phase.....but all villas share the same neutral back to the distribution box.Is it possible that your neutral was actually connected by PLN as the hot phase wire...is so then that would be extremely dangerous and a crime.... if done by a professional electrician.
defrag
I mean the neutral was shared AFTER meter and main C/B. So some current was leaked from neighbours houses thru my meter and vice-versa and our meter was counting it as normal usage even regardless if in Line wire was no current at all by switching off C/B.I know, the situation gives even more questions than answers. WHY it was made? Nobody will give the answer at least while his mental condition is ok.Such an unpredictable nation.
davita
Well I'm glad you found the fault before any real damage or harm...there shoudn't be any current flow in the neutral wire and, as you infer, the Indonesian wiring isn't all that safe....I've never seen a GFCI here in RI and often the neutral isn't even grounded. In my new apartment in Jakarta, after moving in, the fuse box blew up. The problem was the master C/B was loosely wired and the heat built up to an explosive level.....it could have burned down the whole 30 storey building. I changed all the C/Bs in the box for better quality and double-checked the security of all the wires.
