Speaking after the “Golden Indonesia Roadshow” in Jakarta on Monday (15/1/24,) Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has urged young Indonesians to collaborate with the government to realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, according to reporting from Antara News.
“The young human resources are important, and the government is always present to facilitate their preparation toward the Golden Indonesia 2045 (goal),” Lahadalia said, adding that the government is currently carrying out two strategies to realize Golden Indonesia; preparing investment programs to increase the number of jobs and strengthening human resources.
Lahadalia said that these two strategies are essential to keep Indonesia from losing its demographic bonus potential, warning that “we must not be trapped to be only a developing country, or later Indonesia will lose momentum,” according to Antara News.
The minister also said that the Investment Ministry has implemented a blending scheme, or a merging of labor-intensive and capital-intensive programs to add value to investment in the country.
“If it is only labor intensive, then investment remains like this and does not produce high-value products, and high technology is only capital-intensive, thus there will be fewer jobs,” he explained.
He said that his side will announce the value of the scheme, which is expected to have reached IDR 1,400-trillion in 2023. “Our target for 2024 is IDR 1,600-trillion to IDR 1,650-trillion,” he said, as reported by Antara News.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the Surabaya City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Ali Affandi La Nyalla M. Mattalitti, described the Golden Indonesia Roadshow as a way to increase the youth’s enthusiasm for building the nation.
Young people are the key to transforming the nation in the future, saying that “young people must continue to collaborate, not forget history, and process to advance the nation,” says Antara News.
