Get Your Tickets for The Mandalika MotoGP

Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister, Sandiaga Uno has invited tourists looking to watch October’s Pertamina MotoGP race in Mandalika, to opt for living in homestays, according to reporting from Antara News.

“The occupancy rate of hotels is high. Hence, we would like to suggest tourists to stay in homestay and tourism villages to get unique experiences,” Sandiaga said in a discussion that was followed online in Jakarta on Monday (02/10/23) noting that efforts to provide a sufficient number of hotel rooms have met difficulties, but the government has prepared a solution by providing tourists with alternative accommodation options, such as homestays, say Antara News.

The minister then expressed optimism that the existing accommodation facilities would meet the tourists’ demand, adding that the number of tourists visiting Mandalika would increase by 15-percent.

Acting Head of the Central Lombok Office of Tourism, Lendek Jayadi, said that the occupancy rate of sarhunta (tourism residential facilities) and homestay in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone had only reached 30-percent of the total 1,200 rooms available.

Antara News report that 95-percent of the total of 1,970-hotel and villa rooms in the zone had been booked by spectators, racers, and crew of the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP.

On a related topic, citing an article published by CNN Indonesia, Berita Bali are reporting that Czech MotoGP, racer Filip Salac, who joined Gresini in Moto2 this year, has chosen to spend his holiday in Bali ahead of this year’s Mandalika MotoGP in Lombok.

“It’s nice to be able to rest for a few days in Bali before appearing at #IndonesiaGP. Good afternoon, Indonesia,” wrote Salac on his personal Instagram.

The 2023 Mandalika MotoGP will take place on 13-15 October at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Berita Bali report that the promoter of the event, the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), has announced that up to 60-percent of tickets for the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP have already been sold.
