Tempo is reporting that Semarang’s Ahmad Yani Airport has expanded its connectivity with the addition of eight new flight routes operated by Super Air Jet beginning Sunday (8/9/59,) to connect the city to various destinations across Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Lombok.
The newly introduced routes include flights to and from:

Pekanbaru and Lombok (Wednesday and Sunday),
Palembang (Monday and Wednesday),
Medan (Monday and Friday),
Makassar (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday),
Padang (Tuesday and Thursday), and
Banjarmasin (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday).
“These eight new flight routes to and from Semarang are expected to further stimulate tourist visits and boost the tourism sector of Semarang and Central Java,” said Fajar Purwawidada, General Manager of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I’s Ahmad Yani Airport Branch Office in Semarang, according to Tempo.
Fajar also said that a total of 18 new flight routes are planned for the airport operated by Lion Air, Nam Air, and Garuda Indonesia.
“We, as the airport management, are actively coordinating with airlines to continually add popular routes and remain responsive to market demand,” he said.
Fajar expressed optimism that other airlines will soon follow suit, leading to a further expansion of flight routes and increased diversity in travel options.
