Sanur SEZ to Become a Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cells

At the opening of the International Health Conference (IHC) in Nusa Dua on Friday (10/11/23), Prof. Dr. Deby Vinski, M.Sc, Ph.D, who is IHC Chairman, said that the Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK), which is planned as a center for medical tourism in Indonesia, will also be designed as a center for regenerative medicine (anti-aging) and stem cells, according to reporting from Berita Bali.

The opening of the stem cell service is slated for 2024, and together with the opening of anti-aging facilities at KEK Sanur, the hope is to tap into a potential income of IDR 150-trillion of medical tourism that goes abroad. Moreover, with the support of the new Health Law regulations that accommodate anti-aging, it is hoped that this will be a driving force for the development of medical tourism, say Berita Bali.

International Health Conference

The International Health Conference (IHC) was officially opened by the Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Friday (10/11/2023) at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali. This first international health conference was attended by 30 to 40-delegates from 74-countries.

This three-day conference from 10 to 12 November 2023 will discuss a new era of regeneration and stem cell medicine for health tourism.

“Later there will be a topic about cancer and orthopedics,” said Prof Deby.

The conference is being held in collaboration with the Bali Tourism Board (BTB), the World Anti-aging Accreditation Body (World Council for Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-aging Medicine/WOCPM) and the World Council of Stem Cell (WOCS).
