Minister: 170-National Strategic Projects Complete as of October 4

Antara News are reporting that the government has completed 170-national strategic projects (PSN) with a total investment value of IDR 1,299.41-trillion as of October 4, 2023, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

In 2023, President Jokowi inaugurated 17-projects worth IDR 259.41-trillion, including dams, ports, industrial areas, the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, the Jabodebek light rail transit (LRT), and toll roads, such as the Cinere-Jagorawi toll road, the Serpong-Cinere toll road, and the Pasuruan toll road in East Java, the minister said.

“There are 16-projects left with a total value of IDR 179.46-trillion to be completed soon,” Hartarto said after attending a limited meeting on PSNs at the Presidential Palace on Thursday (05/10/23.)

He disclosed that the projects include several dams, the Kisaran-Tebing Tinggi toll road, Deli Kupang Port, Makassar New Port, LNG Train 3 in West Papua, a multifunctional satellite project, and the LNG project, say Antara News.

Twenty-five projects worth IDR 151.58-trillion will be finished by October 2024, the minister told the president. The projects consist of toll roads, industrial areas, airports, the Benoa Tourism Area, and several Islamic university campuses, he added.

“Between October 20 and December 2024, there are 12-projects worth IDR 23.45-trillion. We also have PSN projects whose construction is already underway, partially operated, and due for completion after 2024 amounting to 42-projects with a value of IDR 1,427.36 trillion. Those projects are already underway and the financial closing is already carried out, so we have to finish it,” he said.

Antara News report that his ministry is also proposing several new private PSNs dominated by smelter development projects, including in West Kalimantan, which will be handled by PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia.

A fast train development project from Bandung, Yogyakarta, Solo to Surabaya has also been proposed to the president.

Meanwhile, Hartarto said that work on a number of projects has been stopped since it had not begun so far and no budget allocation was made for them from the state budget, including New Ambon Port, Tanggamus industrial area, Kisaran-Rantauprapat toll road, Langsa-Lhokseumawe toll road, Lhokseumawe-Sigli toll road, Dumai-Sigambal-Rantauprapat toll road, Juanda Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), Jatigede SPAM, and Kamijoro SPAM.

“All of them were removed from the PSN list because the project between the off-taker and financial had not been agreed,” he explained.
