After a few years of intense struggling I finally got the Sertificat(s) for the land and I’m now getting ready to apply for the IMB. However, I’m being proposed astronomical amounts and administrative problems. I’m afraid I may be leading towards a new long lasting nightmare.
I’ll be in Lovina next August with the intention of clearing all this IMB story (among other). Meanwhile, before we could meet personally, I wonder if you could meet my local friend in Lovina and share your experience with us. It would be a great help.

hmmm. the last time I build my house in jakarta, I just take those great floorplan from the great developer, and build the same one for mine. ask someone to draw the blueprint and get the IMB.
geez, last year when we're building the shophouses around the seminyak, we need to ask the kepala desa permition, and signed some papers for contract. he asked for a fee, for my heaven sake! and it was my stupidity to ask "how much?" and he charged me so damn expensive.
now learning from my mistakes, dont ask, just give around 100 - 200k in an envelope.
This is my building man, he helped me build this and that 08123984005 made, he is so patient and he do a great job, he dont talk much and he do everything right.
a 100-200K in an envelop to the kepala desa..he would throw that lunchmoney right back at ya

gilbert, how much do you think you need to give them just to sign a paper? how much do you willing to pay for their permition letter and signature?
I know alot of kepala desa, and lurah from denpasar, seminyak, kerobokan area. the last time I need a signature from kepala desa and lurah for some legal issues, the kepala desa told me, just hand 100k inside an envelope, it will do.
and I did for 7 time, since last year, none throw me back that envelope. they even says, please keep in touch if you need my help in the future.
but of course, if you're so abundant and willing to give more to them you're free to do that.
Depending on what paper they have to sign, and how much you need it signed quickly
don't worry about me, I aim higher and just make a yearly donation to to Bupati...all in all it works out cheaper then all the little bits added up
