Sure, since you’re interested. In the first group, the one I’m holding is an Asmat head hunting trophy from Irian Jaya. In the second group showing only the skulls, from top to bottom: Dayak (Kalimantan, or Borneo if you prefer) head hunting trophy, another Asmat head hunting trophy, another Dayak head hunting trophy, an Iatmul (Papua) ancestor skull), and a very unusual Dayak head hunting trophy.
What's really special about the Iatmul ancestor is that they cover all but the back of the skull in clay and then mold it to resemble a likeness of the deceased. You can see that they mold the lips, nose and ears. Then they paint the head with the same tattoos the person had when alive. These are extremely rare and hard to find, this one being only the second one we’ve seen in well over ten years, the first one is now in the Triangle Tattoo Museum in Fort Bragg, California.
