Default Building Terima Kost in Bali and Lombok

    Greetings all!

My husband and I are currently drafting up our plan to buy and build our first building in Lombok and In Bali.

I have read many many posts throughout the archives and that has helped very much so far. :)

1-How much on average does it cost for a foundation per ARE or meter?

And we plan to build a 3 story building on top...

2-Any feedback on what we should budget on a very basic 3 story building? Per ARE?

We are looking at 7-10 ARE at the moment

I know harga will very....But a basic idea of Foundation & Concrete building costs should give us a good place to start... :D

    Warm regards,
    Anshu :D

What your asking is very difficult to provide given all the variances involved. But, if it helps, this is our latest project built in Ubud. The main house is approximately 1,000 square meters, 3 levels, (the third level being half the size of the first and second) and it cost out at about 1.6 million per square meter for materials and labor. That covered five bedrooms, four full baths (all tiled) and with Kohler fixtures, polished granite first floor, imported veneer maple wood flooring for second and third floor, but no kitchen or dinning room, as they are in a separate building.

Since completing our project, rebar has almost doubled (and you CANNOT skimp on rebar) and cement has increased about 50%.

Labor is a key variant. Most of our construction crew for the basic construction was from Java, and the finish work was done by local Balinese craftsmen, who typically earn at least double.

Land price is not factored into my figures, but we were able to purchase (my wife being Balinese) our land for 30 million an are, but that same land now sells for 50 million an are, Balinese to Balinese. As you likely already know, land prices vary considerably within Bali and Lombok. Cheers and good luck with your project.

Wowzaz...You have a beautiful home Roy!

Thank you for sharing your infomation :D So your house itself not including the kitchen is 1 ARE?

Good advice on the re-bar too...

1-At this point I am wondering about how much a good foundation costs per m2

2-And a VERY basic cement building per m2 not that I am trying to cheap out so much as Kosts are not all that exquisite...Well some are but we are looking at something very basic...

Just want to start getting a feel for building costs in Bali

Anyone know anyone who built a big basic building in Bali or Lombok??

No, the main house takes up a little over 2 are, the inside dimensions of floors one and two being about 20 X 20 meters.

For Lombok, you should consult forum member Mimpimanus, as she built a great place in Kuta, Lombok.

I did think of replying earlier but we havent done any building for several years and I know costs have gone up considerably since then. What I can say is costs in Lombok are generally lower than Bali but I think quality is too. Our home is pretty simple. Only a bungalow and I designed it myself but if you would like more info feel free to Pm me.
