    Default giving birth in bali

Hi!! I recently found out I am pregnant and being new to living in bali I have researched past posts about birthing in bali.

after positive reviews about Puri Bunda , off hubby and I go to check it out. I was suitable impressed. met a nice ob who could speak reasonable good english and all was going good until i asked about natural birth - now i mean natural with a little tweak. When asking about pain releif all they offer is none or epidural!!!! now I am happy giving birth naturally but i do love Nitrious oxide(just to take the edge off)

Does anyone know of any clinics that offer gas as a pain relief?? I am not a fan of epidurals and although I can do natural I WANT GAS!!!

anyone one want to share their stories?????

Freetofly, congratulations! What an exciting time for you. I wish for you a happy, healthy pregnancy and a gentle birth for you and baby.
I can't help with your question since I'm not having any more babies. But if I were I would be heading straight to Bumi Sehat. I don't think that is necessarily helpful information to you because I think you're in the south and Bumi Sehat is in Ubud. They may, however, be able to give you some helpful info if you have a chat with them.
Please keep us posted about what you learn and how you're doing.

Have never understood what all the circus is all about with having babies. Christ on a Cracker, women have been doing it for ... ever!

I reckon you are all just trying to make us men believe that it's something special, mysterious and covered in a veil of speculation and strangeness.

When in fact it's as simple as falling off a log.

BWW (best woman in the world) had one once and we were going along just fine with no problems until we stopped by the hospital on the way to a concert to ask how it was all going (we did have an appointment but had forgotten it). Well to cut a long one short - they wushed us in and said they had to induce as it was a week overdue. 36 hours later we had our sprog but the concert would have been better and more fun - at least for the BWW.

My wife who has known to be wrong in the past told me they only give pain relief if your having a cesarean. It would pay to ask around though

We'll be going to NZ to have our kids, its safer and a whole lot cheaper

Oh markit, you make me laugh!!! I dont think it is the same as falling off a log at all - takes a lot longer than 2 seconds!!!!

I know what you mean, my first baby I missed a footy match to be induced and didnt even have her to after the game finished anyway - I could have done both in one day!!!!!

I admire anyone that can do the whole thing naturally, but I do like my gas!!!

My wife gave birth to her first child naturally here in the north. She had local anesthetic jabs but not an epidural. [Jabs in upper thighs] All over in 3 hours from the breaking of the waters to having a son. So there are alternatives. She did say it still bloody hurt!

Funny thing was we were in California at the time and got caught in this whole "tree hugger" drama, sort of back to nature kind of thing. They were doing these birthing rooms with pastel colors, warm music like a top hotel room inside the hospital. The whole thing was on medical insurance (a big deal in the US) so we thought "why not"?

So BWW thought this would be just the thing for first sprog - went to classes (me 2) studied all the books etc, etc. - a big f*cking deal!

Then after 36 hours shouting and screaming she had a Ceasar, but it sure wasn't Julius.

Births don't come much more unnatural then that but alls well that ends well - sprog now 22, of course I've stayed the same...
