We will be bringing our infant daughter (4 months) to Bali in Sept. Is there any special advice from you expat mothers or fathers that you could give us?
Thanks, Doug
My wife is balinese and we first took our daughter to bali when she was 5 months for her nambutan ceremony. It was no problem at all. To start If you can keep breast feeding really good for the baby and you don't have to worry about clean bottles sterilization. The balinese love children !! A trip to the supermarket can be an interesting experience with lot of people wanting to have a hold .maybe in my case because our child "anak campur" [ mixed heritage Bali \ Australian] and I speak a bit of balinese
Thanks Bukit, Ya we will doing same thing, nambutan and kliling Bali. Yes my wife will continue to breast feed. Is there any car seats in Bali yet???
We live in Australia most of time and Our daughter is now 7 years old .I have never seen safety capsules [ car seat] sold in bali yet.One of my wifes friends had one in bali ? . Bring plenty of drinking water to the ceremony it's a very happy day but long and hot.In my wifes village they have a joke if you say" kl nambutan anak" they say back "o kl lub lub pianka ne" [Are you going to boil the child]...WIsh you all the best on the day
I took my oldest daughter (now almost 8!) top Bali at 9wks for 3 months & she was perfectly fine...
There were no car seats & I held her in a sling on the motorbike, or oon my lap in the car, as we were never travelling far or fast it was nothing to worry about!
Plenty of insect repellant & suncream, a hat too if bubs will wear it...
Have fun...
Yes done the same but only in the village never on the bypass [but don"t tell my mum].. & I held her in a sling on the motorbike, or oon my lap in the car, as we were never travelling far or fast it was nothing to worry about!
