One stop baby shop?

Postby sammib on Tue Mar 18, 2008 8:30 am

Hi everyone,

I will be having a second baby in July. Could anyone recommend a Mothercare-style one-stop shop for baby things like bottles/dummies etc. And best spots for baby clothes? Am in Sanur area but willing to travel for very cute things!

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,

In a word, Matahari. But for my wife and I, raising three boys, (all born in Bali of course), the real fun was in buying locally made clothing and items they needed.

Essentials, like diapers, milk bottles and a wide range of formulas can also be found in most any store like Makro, Carrefore or even Bintang in Ubud. For us, buying in bulk, Makro always seemed to have the best prices for the essentials, like formula and diapers.

One thing is certain, and that is the availability of child raising products in Bali is now about equal to anywhere else in the world, including baby seats for the car. In short, it isn’t like it was 8 years ago when our first, Bima, was born, that is for sure!

Jeffe Kids is a good shop for baby and children clothes and other supplies. They have a large range in bottles and other baby stuff and the quality is usually high. They are in Denpasar and in Seminyak. I always used to go to the one on Jalan Kunti in Seminyak. They have a lot of larger toys too, like swings, slides etc. The large warehouses like Matahari and Ramayana have a lot of baby supplies too. They are cheaper, especially in baby milk etc.
